Call to Order
-Convene in Open Session
-Convene an Executive Session.
a. A majority roll call vote of the governmental body is needed to go into executive session (i.e., each member must state their name and then vote yea or nay).  The vote of each member must be recorded in the minutes of the meeting.
b. The presiding officer must state the purpose for the executive session.  PURPOSE: To discuss the reputation, character, physical condition or mental health, rather than professional competence, of an individual, or to discuss the discipline or dismissal of, or complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual.  The individual to be discussed in such executive session shall be notified in writing by the public body at least 48 hours prior to proposed executive session; provided, however, that notification may be waived upon written agreement of the parties.
     c. State whether the public body will reconvene in open session at the end of the executive session; and
d. While in executive session, the public body must keep accurate records, all votes taken must be recorded by roll call, and the public body may only discuss matters for which the executive session was called.
