    Public Hearing Notice

    The Bernardston Planning Board will conduct a public hearing at 6:30 PM on Thurs. March 18, 2021, in the Town Hall meeting room at 38 Church Street, Bernardston MA, and by remote teleconference.  Instructions for entering the teleconference will be posted on the meeting agenda no later than 48 hours in advance of the meeting at www.townofbernardston.org, at ‘Town Calendar.’  The purpose of the hearing is to solicit public comment regarding proposed amendments to the Bernardston Zoning Bylaws.  Amendments proposed are:

    Adopt a revised Official Zoning Map, proposed change to expand the Expedited Permitting District (EPD) slightly to include an area now zoned Industrial (I) District;

    Expand the locations where Planned Unit Developments may occur to include the Business (B) and Industrial (I) Districts;

    Add traditional business uses to the Use Regulations Schedule including Banks, Health or Exercise Clubs, Theaters and Veterinary Clinics;

    Add new business uses related to the legalization of Recreational Marijuana to the Use Regulations Schedule including Marijuana Cafes (Social Consumption Establishments), Marijuana Delivery-Only Retail, Marijuana Microbusinesses, Marijuana Cultivation Facilities, Marijuana Product Manufacturers and Marijuana Independent Testing Labs and add definitions for these uses to Article VI. Definitions;

    By Citizen Petition, change “Restaurant, drive-in or drive-thru service,” from a use not allowed, to a use allowed by special permit with site plan review in the Center Village (CV) District.

    Addition of an Accessory Agricultural bylaw to allow accessory events and business uses at farms in additional to principal agricultural activities

    Addition of Waiver procedures to the Zoning Bylaws

    Full renumbering of the Zoning Bylaws without changes to substance or text
